It’s pretty common when doing Java development to need mutiple versions installed alongside each other.With Brew and Jenv, switching Java versions between projects becomes easy.
To change the JVM used by Mission Control, follow these steps: Open the zmc.ini configuration file, located in the same directory as zmc.exe. Before the line -vmargs, add two lines. On the first line, write –vm.; On the second line, write the path to your JDK installation.
First you need to tap the
versions cask:
Now you can see multiple versions of the Java cask:
If you develop on Mac OS X you can use the Jar Bundler application to turn jar files into Mac OS X applications. Jar Bundler is distributed with the other developer tools and is located in Developer/Applications/. Start it, select the 'Classpath and Files' tab and add the file JavaSoundDemo.jar. Using the Launchpad. Launchpad is similar to Windows' Start Menu and the application launcher used in iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad. Clicking the Launchpad in the Dock (typically, the second icon from the left, unless you've tinkered with the Dock), displays an overlay of large icons for all the applications installed on your Mac. Search for the text “jvm” (without the quotes): If you can still find processes which use jvm.dll you must quit/kill these processes first and only proceed when Process Explorer does not find any processes which use jvm.dll anymore. Start your application. Search for the text “jvm” (without the quotes).
Now we have the
versions cask, we can install our desired version of Java, e.g.:
At this point, you can not easily switch between the different Java versions, and the most recent Java version will be used. Itools mac app store.

To enable the Jenv shims and autocompletion:
Now restart your shell by either re-opening Terminal, or running the following:

Add your JVMs to Jenv as follows: Auto tune 7 download full.
By default, Jenv will be using the system installed version of Java, which will be the latest one.
You can override this globally by running:
